Research Focus
The primary focus of my applied research program is investigating intervention strategies to enhance the safety of fruits and vegetables. Basic research focuses on the genetic and chemical characterization of antimicrobial proteins produced by bacteria that target foodborne pathogens and food spoilage microorganisms.
